What Are Carbon Steel Pipe Spools?

Carbon steel pipe spools are prefabricated piping assemblies, engineered for the safe and efficient transportation of fluids and gases under pressure across a wide range of industrial sectors. These spools are manufactured from carbon steel or, where enhanced mechanical properties are required, low-alloy steel-both of which are well-suited for demanding service conditions, including high-pressure and high-temperature environments.

Each pipe spool typically comprises straight pipe sections and flanges end connections, which are welded together in a workshop setting prior to delivery to the project site. This prefabrication approach offers significant advantages over field fabrication, including improved welding quality, better dimensional accuracy, reduced on-site labor requirements, and shorter overall installation schedules.

ASTM A350 LF2 - Low-Alloy Steel Forged Flanges (for low-temperature service down to -46°C)
